Salman Khan’s die-hard fans now take the sigh of relief as the much-awaited film of the year ‘Dabangg 2’ has eventually hit the screens. The film’s promos and songs have been raising the heat among the moviegoers and now as the cinematic piece is out on celluloid, the public has gone crazy to sit inside the theaters to watch it on screen.
Arbaaz Khan, who was the producer of Dabangg and also produces the second installment Dbangg 2 as well, makes his directorial debut with this mass entertainer. Chulbul Pandey, the character Salman plays in both the films, has become a real household name in India and across the globe where Bollywood has its presence. Only the character is enough to raise the film’s publicity and business. And when the man himself plays the lead and the content is super entertaining, the business can see no boundaries and the makers and investors are set to count only bucks and bucks.
There is absolutely no doubt about Salman’s mammoth popularity in the world. He is the darling of his die-hard fans. The muscular man has been enjoying the superstardom for last few years in his long career. He has given the stardom a new wave and shape. Luck treads along with this star – whichever movie he does becomes super duper hit turning out to be a big blockbuster. Wanted, Dabangg, Ready, Bodyguard, Ek Tha Tiger and Dabangg 2 – the actor helps the makers and the investors keep counting bucks spreading big smiles on their faces. Salman Khan is the box office igniter actor without any single doubt.
Before stepping inside the theaters, the audiences are sure what they will be conferred with on screen since the plot of the film is same like the original except few changes on the script like the antagonist is more powerful, authoritative and influential.
Dabangg 2 is not novel at all – you have watched this kind of cinema endless times before on screen. From 70s to 80s till now, Bollywood has churned out a number of movies on these kinds of subjects. But Arbaaz Khan makes it in a manner that today’s audiences would love to watch it without blinking the eyes.
Arbaaz knew one thing and he made it clear to himself and his team before making and during the shooting that the movie would be a complete entertainer. He did it remarkably best with his focus on utter entertainment.
Film starts with Chulbul Pandey (Salman Khan) who moves to Kanpur. Over there, his conflict arises with Bachcha Bhaiyya (Prakash Raj), who is a criminal turned politician. He with his two brothers – Chunni (Nikitin Dheer) and Gainda (Deepak Dobriyal) are involved in the criminal activities in the area. The enmity gets worse when Chulbul kills Bachcha’s brother Gainda.
The film’s focus is entertainment, entertainment and entertainment. The mainstream cinema lovers and the ones who love masala entertainers, Dabangg 2 is a big gift for them. It is a Salman Khan’s film throughout who does luminously best to entertain his millions of audiences worldwide. With his trademark acting style, he allures the souls of cinemagoers.
Arbaaz Khan’s direction is first-rate. He picks the pulse of the audiences brilliantly and that is what is called the film’s success. The script is well penned by Dileep Shukla. Although the screenplay is potentially superb, but it has few flaws nonetheless as the dialogues between Salman and Prakash lack some fuel. The songs’ injection into the narrative is not situational at all.
Music by Sajid-Wajid is smooth, sliken, melodious and catchy. Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s Dagabaaz Re is the real pick of the lot. Fevicol is another hit among the masses. Kareena Kapoor’s presence in the track loots the hearts of the moviegoers. Aseem Mishra’s cinematography is work of art. Editing is crispy. Anal Arasu’s action is splendid.
Salman Khan, once again, proves that he is the only superstar of Hindi cinema. With his power-packed acting, he steals the hearts of his fans. He delivers award-winning performance and can surely bag the awards from the upcoming functions. Sonakshi Sinha enacts well. Prakash Raj delivers his dexterous skills supremely. He is a much talented actor. Vinod Khanna is just about okay. Arbaaz Khan is fine. Mahi Gill does not impress. Rest of the cast enacts their parts with conviction.
Final Verdict:
On the whole, Dabangg 2 is a hardcore masala entertainer. It is a sure shot blockbuster and a true gift for the Christmas and New Year. MUST-WATCH!
