Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone multi starrer this movie has left all Bollywood movies behind in terms of opening day business.

Happy New Year showed a phenomenal response at both multiplexes and single screens all over India. It was bound to create history and new records as was mentioned by this writer yesterday. Even the film received average or below average reviews from the critics and some went with higher ratings as well, nonetheless the movie was bound to generate earth-shattering business and now the same took place. Happy New Year 1st day box office collections are more than 44.97 crore in domestic market. The film emerged housefull in all circuits of India yesterday. The word of mouth publicity went super high and it will surely go in same breath in the days to come. Film earned around 42.62 crore in Hindi version, 1.43 crore in Telugu version and 0.92 crore in Tamil version respectively. Happy New Year 1st day box office collections have also left Aamir Khan’s Dhoom 3 behind, which opened to 36 crore on 1st day in India.
