Shakespeare’s classic play ‘Romeo & Juliet’ has well been used in many Hollywood and Bollywood films. The play has its own worth in literature and also carries big significance in movies as well. Issac too walks on the lines of this Shakespeare’s play. We have seen bomb of movies on the subject of two warring families in which the kids from the families fall in love and then start the bloody game of war between the two family members. Manish Tiwary’s Issaq too talks about the two lovers from the two warring families.

Set in Banaras and the adjacent areas, the film is about the sand mafia that is controlled by the two warring families of the area – Mishras and Kashyaps. Bacchi (Amyra Dastur) is the daughter of Kashyup from his first wife whereas Rahul (Prateik Babbar) is the son of Mishra. The bloodshed begins between the families when Rahul and Bacchi start loving each other.

The film largely depends on the bloodshed and utter violence as it is the demand of the script. There is no novelty at all in the movie, but the best thing is that you can watch the movie till the end without any yawning. The script turns out to be stretched and sluggish in post interval portion of the film.

Manish Tiwary and two other writers together write the screenplay. Well, these guys could have made the script more interesting for the viewers injecting some piece of novelty. Editing is simply bad. There are many portions, which needed to be edited. Cinematography is classy – the local locales have been captured with flourish and brilliance. Music is not great, but the title track hits the heart.

Prateik Babbar does not impress at all. He is not new in the cinema world. Thus he should have shown the skills. Amyra Dastur debuts in this film. She needs to develop expertise of acting. She can do well provided that she focuses on her career seriously. Rajeshwari Sachdeva in a role of scheming woman is brilliant. Rest of the cast is okay.
