Kamal Haasan, Vidya Balan and Paresh Rawal Conferred with Padma Awards

It has been learnt that Kamal Haasan and Begum Parveen Sultana (famed classical singer) have been chosen for the Padma Bhushan award whereas the Bollywood celebrities – Vidya Balan and Paresh Rawal have been selected for Padma Shri awards. Kamal’s contribution to cinema industry such as Tamil, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi has been significant. He has done more than 190 movies in his long career spanning over more than five decades. Kamal Haasan has been chosen for India’s 3rd highest civilian award, Padma Bhushan.

Vidya Balan, 36, the dusky and vivacious Bollywood beauty with brain, chose for India’s 4th highest civilian award ‘Padma Shri’. She is famed in the world for her marvelous performances in movies like The Dirty Picture, Ishqiya, Paa and Kahaani.

Paresh Rawal, veteran Bollywood actor, has been zeroed in for Padma Shri award for his exvellent contribution to Bollywood cinema industry. His notable works include Her Pheri, Oh My God, Sir, Sardar and Road to Singham.

More than 100 other winners too have been zeroed in for the awards.
