Rangoon Picks Up in Evening Shows, But Needs Word of Mouth

By Goher Iqbal Punn – Hindi Film Critic, Columnist & Bollywood Analyst – Showbiz Bites

Rangoon 1st day box office collections now reveal one thing that the movie though opened slow but picked up in the evening shows. As it was Vishal Bhardwaj’s directorial venture, it did appeal to the critics, but the audience could not be turned on as they should have been. Nonetheless they turned to the theaters in evening shows. This period romantic war drama had below average opening day collections in the end of the day. This Shahid Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan and Kangana Ranaut’s film is expected to bring some footfalls on Saturday and Sunday.

Rangoon 1st day box office collections are 6.07 crore in domestic market. The film needs word of mouth to grow. Let’s wait and see if the masses provide it a good support.

If the movie grows to around 50 percent, it may emerge with a good opening weekend business.
