What The Fish, the movie that suddenly made news a few days back, when Poonam Pandey’s strip act and Rakhi Sawant’s sizzling dance moments at Dimple Kapadia’s film promotion party took place. All of a sudden the film got into the eyes of the masses and now the people are aware of this film. The film carries nothing great and interesting to offer its audiences. The film carries comical moments, but they are just ordinary. Although the plot is different from the routine kind of movies, but an utter novelty is not found in it. Anyway, script is nonetheless okay. But the other departments of the film are plain poor. The film does not raise any spirits at all. Dimple Kapadia’s sending a lavish party for the film’s promotion was done because of the fact that she knew the movie had nothing to offer to the audiences.

Sudha Mishra (Dimple Kapadia), is a 67 years old divorcee, who is very much strict to her principles. You are not allowed to do anything without her consent and permission. She lives in Vasantkunj Delhi. She is to leave for the US for a month and she fills her niece’s fiancé with endless amount of instructions prior to her departure. She also does not trust on her niece’s fiancé and does not find him fit for her. The main instructions are to feed her pet fish timely and to give water to her plants. In her absence, a lot of unusual things happen. What does she see upon her return?

Well, the story seems attractive and the script is fine. But the execution of the same on celluloid is not perfect at all. The director (Gurmeet Singh) fails to register any impact on the viewers with his direction. The viewers soon start getting bored with the going-ons of the film. The editing is just poor. Cinematography is plain average. Music is mundane and holds no attention and attraction at all. Other departments of the movie too are not well executed.

Dimple Kapadia leaves an impression on the minds of the viewers with her brilliant performance without any doubt. Others cast members spoil the dish.

Final Verdict:

On the whole, What The Fish is a poor entertainer from all angles. Better to save your money and precious time.
