Airlift Movie Review
Akshay Kumar’s Airlift hits the screens. The film was being awaited and now it shows the wait was worth to do. The film is about the Indians’ evacuation from Kuwait after the invasion by Iraq. The best about the film is that it has been executed and narrated splendidly on screen. Akshay performs brilliantly and holds your attention from the beginning till the end. The story is marvelously gripping that you cannot and does not want to take your eyes off the screen.
Ranjit Katyal (Akshay Kumar) is a smart businessman who loves enjoying the high society life in Kuwait. Amrita Katyal (Nimrat Kaur), Ranjit’s wife, is happy in her life with her daughter. When Iraq invades Kuwait on 2nd August 1990, the world is turned upside down. The selfish businessman, Ranjit, changes when he sees his driver getting murdered in front of his eyes. He and his rich friends organize a camp for 1,70,000 Indians. Later, it is shown how skillfully he negotiates with enemies and friends.
Raja Krishna Menon directs the film with dexterity. His execution is simply awesome and catchy. Writing by Suresh Nair, Rahul Nangia, Ritesh Shah and Raja Krishna Menon is mind blowing. Screenplay is flawless. Dialogues are first-rate. Editing is sharp and crispy. Cinematography by Priya Seth is extremely classy. Locales of UAE and Rajasthan have been captured with gusto. Music by Amaal Malik and Ankit Tiwari is attention-grabbing.
Akshay Kumar is the life of the film. He delivers a mind boggling performance to impress and register a brilliant impact on the viewers. Nimrat Kaur is a class to watch. Purab Khli is fine. Prakash Belawadi enacts well. Rest of the cast fills the bill also.
Final Verdict:
On the whole, Airlift is based on a real life incident and has been executed with such a brilliance that you get glued to the screen from the beginning till the end.
