Well, the much-awaited Biriyani has finally landed at the theaters to let the viewers enjoy with this treat. But the question is that whether this treat is enjoyable and delicious or just plain tasteless dish to ignore altogether. This will be answered well later on the review. Venkat Parbhu’s Biriyani has well been in news and the moviegoers were curious to watch this film. Now as it has arrived, let’s wait and see how best it performs at the box office? Venkat is famous for making offbeat entertainers and this time around, he comes up with a black comedy that features the likes of Karthi, Premgi Amaren, Hansika Motwani and horde of other supporting actors.

Well, in the very beginning, it is very clear that Biriyani carries all the ingredients found in any entertainer of Venkat Parbhu. The movie carries horde of characters, offbeat story laced with humor, unpredictable twists and soulful music. This Biriyani has it all to lure the viewers.

In this film, you will find Karthi in an altogether new avatar – a new makeover. He is seen in trendy costumes, colored lens and new hairdo and plays the character of a Casanova named Sugan. Although he has a pretty girlfriend Priyanka (Hansiks Motwani), who is a media reporter, he keeps flirting with all the gorgeous women around. Premgi Amaren plays Parasu, who is Sugan’s childhood friend. He is the sidekick to Sugan. Both go to Ambur to inaugurate their company’s new showroom.  Varatharajan (Nassar) is the chief guest at the ceremony. Varatharajan is a business tycoon and is being investigated by the CBI. On their return back to native land, Sugan insists Parasu to eat Biriyani at a roadside. Biriyabni is his favorite food item. While enjoying with it, they bump into a sensuous woman Maya (Mandy Takhar) who makes them to tread along with her to her hotel. They go with her and both drink a lot of alcohol there. And when they get up in the morning, they find themselves being tracked by the police for the killing of Varatharajan.

The plotline is attractive and grabs the attention. The story is laced with interest, twists and suspense besides the comic factor. The script, though carries few flaws, attracts nonetheless. Direction by Venkat Prabhu is fabulous, as he makes the viewers glued to the screens from the initial reels till the last. First half of the film lacks the oomph with number of flashback sequences and slow pace. But post interval portion raises the interest level. Music by Yuvan Shankar Raja is soothing and is a treat to listen.

Karthi is superlative in his role. He attracts being a true Casanova. Premgi Amaren lures the hearts with his acting prowess. Hansika Motwani looks gorgeous and enacts her part well. Nasser is treat to watch. Rest of the cast is okay as well.
