He is in Lahore (Pakistan) these days and talking to media persons at Lahore Museum, Hans Raj Hans confirmed that he had converted to Islam and he was much proud of being a Muslim now. He also declared that his new Islamic name is Mohammad Yousaf. Mohammad Yousaf (Hans Raj Hans) showed his desire of going and visiting Madina Munawara (a Holy place of Muslims in Saudi Arabia).

The singer says that Islam is the religion of love, brotherhood and peace. He mentions that what inner peace he received after converting to Islam, he cannot explain in words. The singer also explains that in the field of singing, his name would always be Hans Raj Hans, as this is his recognition. Well, Hans Raj Hans converts to Islam is what has spread all over the web.

He goes on mentioning that he has closely studied Islam and after knowing the religion and listening a lot from his elders, he took the decision of converting to Islam and he is proud of his decision. In his folk singing, Sufism is always there. He loves Sufisim and Sufi poetry and has mentioned it many a time.

Hans Raj Hans keeps coming to Pakistan and he has been coming to the country for last many years. One of his interviews to a Pakistani news channel last year, he mentioned his love for the country describing the land’s magic drags him towards. And due to this, he keeps coming to Pakistan.

Well, Hans Raj is not the only one from Bollywood industry who converted to Islam, internationally renowned musical maestro and Oscar Award winner musician AR Rahman, yesteryears actress Sharmila Tagore, Bollywood’s famed creative genius lyricist-poet-screenwriter and film director Gulzar too has converted to Islam.
