Rating: 2.5/5 (Two and Half Stars)

I, Me Aur Main is the directorial venture of the debutante Kapil Sharma. The first time director does fine job though there are a number of flaws in the script and other portions of the film. But the overall essence of the film is appealing. The film has been targeted to the urban in particular the youth. In urban circuits, the film will play good at the box office, but in other remote parts of the country and the small cities, good business can hardly be witnessed.

The plotline of the film talks about the main protagonist who is a man-child – the one who does not want to own the responsibilities and take the things and relationships for granted. The subject is quite watched in Hollywood and even in Hindi cinema as well, the plot has been the flavor of many a filmmakers. Thus we cannot claim it to be novel. But yes, Kapil has injected life in the film and the script, where has flaws, has something for the youth.

The live-in relationships have started hitting Bollywood cinema since quite some time and now the movies have started being made on this plot. The same subject, ‘I, Me Aur Main’ carries on board.

The film talks about Ishaan (John Abraham), who happens to be a charming and smart music producer living in Mumbai. This man lives a sheltered existence. His mother (Zarina Wahab) loves him dearly, as he is always her central focus. Ishaan’s elder sister Shivani (Mini Mathur) always protects him. He lives with his girlfriend Anushka (Chitrangda Singh) in her lush house. But the man takes all this for granted. Then comes a day when he is thrown out of his girlfriend’s lush home after Anushka gets fed up of his taking relationships for granted behavior. He then lands into an ordinary house and his mother too starts living with him. Ishaan’s elder sister then begins getting upset for him and his boss (Raima Sen) asks Ishaan to resign from the post. The man then gets shaken altogether with the all of sudden changes in life. His life takes a new turn when a new neighbor Gauri (Prachi Desai) steps inside his life and makes him learn the values of relationships. A twist in tale comes up when he has to make a choice.

I, Me Aur Main-Still02-ShowbizbitesThe moments such as John and Mini’s sequences, John and Chitrangda’s relationship and few more have been captured with aplomb. They are worthy to praise big. But the flaws are more than the worthy moments. The sequences like John’s relationship with Prachi, his relationship with Raima Sen, his struggle for the new singer and more others utterly downgrade the movie’s worth.

Kapil Sharma’s direction is nice if not up to the distinction marks. The debutante impresses with his first job but he is letdown by the script writer, who could not get hold on the flow of the story. Devika Bhagat, the writer of the film, does just about okay job. Himman Dhamija’s cinematography is good to watch. Music is below average. Ranjeet Bahadur’s editing is okay.

John Abraham has really done superb job. He is a fine actor and always delivers the cinematic goods with gusto and conviction. Chitrangda Singh is wonderful. Prachi Desai is okay. Raima Sen is nice to watch. Zarina Wahab does good job. Mini Mathur is perfect in the role. Rest of the cast is okay as well.

Final Verdict:

On the whole, I, Me Aur Main is a youth’s movie and can run well in urban cities. In small cities, the scope is quite less. It is just an average flick, but watch it if you are John Abraham’s fans.

Movie Details (Prior to Release)

I, Me Aur Main is John Abraham’s ready to hit the screens film. I, Me Aur Main movie review will be furnished at this space on 1st March (Friday) by tomorrow. The film stars the likes of John Abraham, Prachi Desai and Chitrangda Singh in main leads. The film is being labeled as ‘feel good’ cinema by the makers. Let’s wait and see how far this label goes apt? It is a romantic drama film that has been directed by the debutante director Kapil Sharma. The film’s promotions have been going on and on and hopefully they will pay off. The live in relations have started being shown in Hindi cinema since quite some time and I, Me Aur Main is no different, as it too carries the stuff like this on celluloid.

More on the film will well be explained in I, Me Aur Main review that will be published at this page tomorrow morning once the film is out in theaters.

I, Me Aur Main-Still01-ShowbizbitesJohn Abraham is without any kind of doubt is the apple of all eyes. He has big fan following in India and abroad and his fan following particularly includes the youngsters. Expectations are his fans will surely come out to support their icon’s latest cinematic product that is apparently youthful carrying the subject of youth.

I, Me Aur Main features John Abraham as Ishaan, who is a charming and good looking music producer in Mumbai. He is loved by his loving mother (Zarina Wahab) and his elder sister Shivani (Mini Mathur) always protects him. Ishaan lives at his girlfriend Anushka’s (Chitrangda Singh) house.

The problem with him is that he takes all of these people for granted. One day, Gauri (Prachi Desai), his new neighbor steps into his life and makes him learn the life’s and relationships’ importance. Soon, he begins mending and maintaining his relationships of past. He starts loving Gauri. Twists then come in this tale.
