Main Aur Mr. Riight releases today and from the word go, as you all might have thought of the movie, is a mundane project from all aspects of the movie. The film is all about love, being single and relationships, as the name suggests also. The film belongs to one character mainly – Shenaz Treasuryvala, who thinks that she is perfect from all angles – style statement, class and perfection in work and blah blah.
Aliya Raj (Shenaz Treasuryvala) is a casting director for the movies and she is happy in her career and with a group of friends. The entire group thinks she is a case of mental imbalance since she is single and unmarried. The whole group is a couple except her. Aliya is single because she has not found her Mr. Right so far who can fit to her expectations. But now to shut up their friends’ mouths, she makes a plan to arrange a guy who can become her boyfriend. For this, she takes the help of a struggler Sukhi (Barun Sobti), who will be paid for this job. He agrees and the work starts. She introduces him to her group. Soon, he befriends with the group and becomes the darling of all due to his good advices, etc. Everything goes fine till the time a waiter in a hotel recognizes him and identifies him before the whole group. What happens next is what forms the rest of the story.
The debutante director Adeeb Rais makes an amateurish effort to churn out this film. The film does not have energy which is required for this ilk of subject. The story is old, which we have seen plenty of times on screen previously. Screenplay carries many flaws. It is written by Adeeb Rais and Aseem Rais, so these two are the culprits for this badly written script. Editing is poor and cinematography is average. Music is simply boring.
Barun Sobti makes his debut and he desperately needs to work on acting skills. Shenaz Treasuryvala looks ravishing and stunning, but could not enact her part well. Rest of the cast is plain average.
Final Verdict:
On the whole, Main Aur Mr. Riight is a boring fiesta. This romantic comedy fails to register any impact on the viewers. With an old story and badly executed with poor script, this film must best be avoided.
