Rani Mukherjee’s action-packed outing ‘Mardaani’ eventually is out for you to watch it on screen. Well, there is nothing new in the script at all. But the fact remains that the protagonist impresses you full with her bravura performance throughout on screen. This is what the viewer enjoys and this is what the movie is all about, otherwise if you plan to watch it for any novelty or exceptional, Mardaani offers nothing of this sort.
Film talks about a fearless lady inspector Shivani Shivaji Roy (Rani Mukherjee) from crime branch. She is on way to search a young girl Pyaari (Priyanka Sharma) who goes missing from a shelter in Mumbai. Shivani’s objective is to find the girl and track down the sex-trafficking racket.
As mentioned above, there is no novelty in story at all. The script is fine, although there are many faults into the narrative. The pace at places goes slow, but it is Rani, who continuously gels you with the screen with her outstanding performance in an action-packed role. Pardeep Sarkar’s direction is fine. Editing is okay. Cinematography is average. Music is strictly okay.
Rani Mukherjee gives a bravura performance and she is the one who carries the whole movie on her shoulders. Tahir Raj Bhasin, who plays a baddie, is exceptional. Rest of the cast is fine as well.
Final Verdict:
Mardaani is engaging and impresses just because of the exceptional performance of Rani Mukherjee. Watch it for her only.
