As expected Phillauri 1st weekend collections came up tremendous adding handsome footfalls to film’s overall business till date. The film witnessed a jump from 2nd day’s business on its 3rd day (1st Sunday) at domestic box office. The film collected 6.03 crore in Indian circuit on 3rd day that is noticeable and was expected due to holiday. Since the movie is now stable after spending first weekend successfully at the box office, the weekdays will make no affect at all now.

Phillauri collected 15.25 crore domestic business on opening weekend (1st weekend) and this is ofcourse a good business figure for a normal budgeted film. The movie was made with a budget of 21 crore (including marketing and promotion). 12 crores were already fetched through music and satellite rights and now the movie has collected 15.25 crore in just three days, it has surpassed the investment. The recovery is no issue at all now.

Grabbing Dilhit Dosanjh in starcast was a marketing technique used skillfully. Since he is a superstar of Punjabi cinema and Phillauri’s story is based in Punjab, people from that area would be inclined towards the film. The same happened – the movie’s major business has been coming from Punjab circuit.
