Much-awaited Raanjhanaa (2013) Movie Review is ready for you to read. Let’s enjoy reading it.

Well, south’s famous actor Dhanush’s Bollywood debut Raanjhanaa has hit the screens today. The film was much-in-talks since the days it was announced. Ofcourse behind its popularity, Dhanush is the main reason. South stars often come to work in Bollywood – few have really done well and the rest just could not impress at all. The likes of Rajnikanth deserve full mention and applaud. He is a real gem and a legendary actor. The movie has been shot in Benaras and Delhi mostly. Aanand Rai has executed the film with brilliance that the viewer does not get bored even for a moment.

The best thing about Raanjhanaa is that it does not take the routine route of romantic Hindi movies. Apparently it seems to be taking the time and tested route to romance but once the reels start opening, the novelty in narrative comes up. The writer has done a great job by producing a novel script, which then was executed with finesse on screen by the director. In short, both writer and the director have done their level best in making Raanjhanaa a unique cinematic venture for the spectators. Romantic movies are made tremendously in Hindi film industry and this is the reason, the viewers have become tired and fed up with the routine spices of a love story. But when the films like Raanjhanaa are churned out, the audiences give their full support.

Raanjhanaa is simple but attention-grabbing with solid performances, catchy music and novel plot. You cannot miss it watching on screen and yes, it has repeat values, which normally Bollywood movies hardly have.

The film talks about Kundan (Dhanush) who loses his heart to Zoya (Sonam Kapoor). It is a love at first sight for Kundan. The twist in tale takes place when Zoya leaves for Delhi for further educations. In Delhi, she bumps into a budding politician (Abhay Deol) and starts loving him. The complications then start happening in this love triangle.

Raanjhanaa carries all sorts of emotions to lure the viewers. The romance element has been injected fully to get the viewers glued to the screens. There are hardly any hiccups which interrupt the viewers and get them bored. Minor flaws are nonetheless there in the script, but they are ignorable when the overall narrative is superlative and worthy.

Himanshu Sharma deserves brawny points for the novel script he has come up with. Hats off to the director Aanand Rai who directed the film brilliantly to impress the viewers. Dialogues are first rate. Cinematography is top notch. The locales of North India have been captured with class. Camera movements are splendid. Editing is fine.

A.R Rahman has spelled magic with the album of Raanjhanaa. He shows his big class in the composition for the songs of this soundtrack. Each song carries his trademark style, which the listeners enjoy utterly.

Dhanush, after stealing the hearts of the masses in India and abroad with his song Kolaveri Di, impresses the Hindi audiences with his debut performance in Bollywood. Dhanush is simply awesome with his acting. The brilliant and talented actor in Dhanush will lead him to heights in Bollywood industry. Sonam Kapoor is fantastic. She displays her true acting prowess in this film. In this de-glam role, she looks equally beautiful and fine. Abhay Deol is impressive. Rest of the cast too fits the bill.

Final Verdict:

In a capsule, Raanjhanaa is among the best movies of Hindi film industry. With its power-packed performances, catchy music, novelty in script and eye-catchy direction – it is RECOMMENDED to watch.
