Rangoon Opens Much Slow – BO Analysis

By Goher Iqbal Punn – Hindi Film Critic, Columnist & Bollywood Analyst – Showbiz Bites

Shahid Kapoor and Kangana Ranaut’s much-in-talks movie ‘Rangoon’ has finally arrived today. Let’s now check out what kind of opening occupancy it has generated at the box office. Well, Rangoon opening occupancy has not been what it should have been. The film took simply a low start in the morning shows. The occupancy for the opening shows in the morning in India was around 10 percent. This shows the movie will take poor opening day collections or if it goes well in later shows, it could be just about okay.

Since it is Vishal Bhardwaj’s film, as they have their own unique flavor that hardly hits the masses in smaller cities, it seems the movie will barely get good business in small circuits or in small cities.

There are chances of slight pickup in the evening, but that will not add handsome business to the movie that also stars Saif Ali Khan in lead role.

Checking out the 10% Rangoon opening occupancy, it is now clear the movie has to struggle a lot to fetch good opening weekend business. Wish it a good luck.
