Renowned Bollywood singer Shaan recently performed at Subhash Ghai’s Whistling Woods International’s 5th Veda Cultural Workshop in Mumbai. Truly it was a musical fiesta for the students of the institute and the music aficionados. Shaan sang a medley of songs representing every state of India. He left the audiences enthralled with his performance that all and sundry gave him a standing ovation. Whistling Woods International (WWI) organized its weekly workshop under the 5th Veda Cultural Hub convened by the legendary filmmaker Subhsah Ghai.
Talking to the audiences there, Shaan talked about the quality of the great male playback singers of Bollywood from K L Sehgal, Talat Mahmood, Mohammad Rafi to Udat Narayan, Kumar Sanu to Sonu Nigam and Arjit Singh and to name a few. He also shared his experiences of rendering songs in various languages of India like Kanada, Bengali, Marathi, Gujarati, Tamil and Punjabi apart from Hindi in which he sings a lot and is famous for. Shaan also talked about his experience of singing songs in Italian showing the music has no language.
The students delivered a cover performance of Shaan’s ‘Hey Shona’, which he liked. Subhash Ghai in his address thanked Shaan for attending and performing at the workshop. The event concluded with Shaan’s flawless fusion performance on his best numbers including Chand Sifarish’, ‘Behti Hawa Sa Tha Woh’ and ‘Tanha Dil’, etc.
