Sholay SD hits the screens today with much oomph and conviction. The film carries the term ‘classic’ and yes, it is among those few classics of Hindi film industry, which will live forever in the hearts of the cinegoers. Sholay is a movie, which one likes watching again and again. And almost all of us have watched it for so many times that even we cannot count the figure. The original released around 39 years back and we have grown up with this film remembering it, praising it and discussing it time and time again. The movie has the biggies in starcast from Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, Sanjeev Kumar, Hema Malini, Jaya Bhaduri to Amjad Khan. The film is still remembered because of its dialogues in particular such as the ones delivered by Gabbar Singh (Amjad Khan) and Thakur (Sanjeev Kumar). It is a timeless classic and will be forever. Post 39 years, the film is as delicious watching it on screen, as it was when it was first released decades back.

Still the film’s dialogues are used everywhere in movies, songs and in every entertainment venture. The story is heart-warming and behind its story, we all are well aware, is the duo of Salim-Javed, whose combo was the talk of the town when they used to write together as a team. Salim-Javed was the combo, the filmmakers used to rely heavily on.

Directed none other than by the finest filmmaker of Hindi cinema industry Ramesh Sippy, Sholay is a treat to watch. Ramesh unveils his classic now in a 3D format after 39 years. And still the film looks fresh and lively grabbing the attention of the viewers instantly. From the initial reels till the last frame, Sholay 3D is fabulous watch. It attracts fully in 3D version.

The characters of the movie – Jay, Veeru, Thakur, Basanti, Radha and ofcourse – Gabbar Singh, all are immortal and still live with us.

The music of Sholay is as popular in today’s scene, as it was 39 years back. The soundtrack is late R.D.Burman’s finest musical score of his career without any doubt. The songs like Mehbooba, Jab Tak Hai Jaan and Yeh Dosti Hum Nahi Todenge – all are truly hummable and still are popular.

From editing to direction, music, dialogues, script to performances, every department of the movie is superb. Every character delivered its performance with aplomb and gusto.
