ajay-tamannaah-showbizbitesProducer: Vashu Bhagnani and UTV Motion Pictures (Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy Kapur)

Director: Sajid Khan

Cast: Ajay Devgn, Tamannaah, Paresh Rawal and Mahesh Manjrekar

Music: Sajid-Wajid and Sachin-Jigar

Sajid Khan, the 100 crore business director of Bollywood industry, is now all geared up to release his upcoming venture ‘Himmatwala’, which is the remake of the 1983’s hit Jateendra and Sri Devi starrer film with the same title. Sajid is the confident man and he always talks big about his projects and the man always comes up successful. That is the beauty of this intelligent filmmaker. The same is being expected by the adroit film director this time around. The music of Himmatwala has been released and the songs of the music album have been making their mark at the charts. Let’s review the music of the album.

1. Naino Mein Sapna (Amit Kumar and Shreya Goshal)

The track is a refurbished number. It is the same song of the 1983’s film but has been refurbished with new singers and music, etc. The original song was sung none other than by the legendary late singer Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar. The new version has been rendered by Kishore’s son Amit Kumar and Shreya Goshal. Both have  done true justice to the song making the original’s feel fully alive. The lyrical and musical values are superb. Sajid-Wajid did brilliant job on music. The track is foot-tapping and really hummable.

Track’s Rating: 4/5

2. Taki Taki (Mika Singh and Shreya Goshal)

This one too is a refurbished number. The original song of 83’s album has been remade having Mika Singh and Shreya Goshal on board. Both the singers dolled up fabulous job raising the spirits and letting the listeners enjoy the feel. Sajid-Wajid have decorated the composition with such a classy adornment. Enjoy it.

Track’s Rating: 4/5

3. Dhoka Dhoka (Bappi Lahiri, Sunidhi Chauhan and Mamta Sharma)

Next comes on the album is an item number having the trio of Bappi Lahiri, Sunidhi Chauhan and Mamta Sharma singing the lines. Sunidhi is a famed item number crooner. Mamta, we all know, can deliver the vocals aptly for the item number. Bappi Lahiri has emerged a new item song specialist after crooning the hit number ‘O La La’ in The Dirty Picture. Lyrics hold values. Music is really a firework. The song is electrifying and simply awesome.

Track’s Rating: 3/5

4. Bum Pe Laat (Shaan, Soham and Shubh Mukherjee)

The trio of Shaan, Soham and Shubh Mukherjee does well on their parts for crooning the lines. But the lyrics and music do not complement the singing. The song is not appealing to the ears and goes astray.

Track’s Rating: 1/5

5. Thank God It’s Friday (Sunidhi Chauhan)

80’s disco feel is attached to this number sung brilliantly by Sunidhi Chauhan. It’s a real dance number and you will start tapping the feet once it begins playing. The lyrics are wonderful. Music by Sachin-Jigar, the guest composers, is really alluring.

Track’s Rating: 3.5/5

Final Verdict:

On the whole, the album of Himmatwala is well-composed and boisterous musical piece. Naino Mein Sapna has already been enjoying top positions on the charts. It will generate good sales from the stands.

Overall rating: *** (3/5)
