Jaanu Meri Jaan song is absolutely an evergreen song from all aspects. It is still fresh and loves to be heard and hummed around. It is from the super successful movie of the past ‘Shaan’ starring Amitabh Bachchan, Shashi Kapoor, Parveen Babi, Bindiya Goswami, Rakhee Gulzar, Shatrugan Sinha, Sunil Dutt (late) and Kulbhushan Kharbanda. With a big starcast, the film proved to be a mammoth success at the box office. Shaan released on 12th December 1980. Made with a budget of 6 crore reportedly, it earned 12.50 crore (as per reports) at the box office.
The song was sung by the legends in the field – late Kishore Kumar, late Muhammad Rafi, Asha Bhosle and Usha Mangeshkar. The lyrics were penned by the great and talented lyricist late Anand Bakshi. Music was composed by the genius late R D Burman. From singing wise, the song is simply awesome and magical. All the singers display their histrionics. Lyrics are a class apart. Music is foot-tapping and coerces you to start tapping the feet with the beats.
