Actor Jay Pathak, who is currently part of Rajan Shahi’s Yeh Rshtey Hain Pyaar Ke, is thrilled to be part of the show. The actor says that he loves his character and can really relate to it. “Naman, I feel is a special character because the connect he has with Mishti. The pain he has suffered in the past has really made him a cold person and that’s why he has so much anger. He wants to take revenge from the family. Though he loves his daughter but now he thinks that the only revenge he would take is in terms of money,” says Jay, who has been seen in shows such as Balika Vadhu, Naadaniya and the film Bol Bachchan.
He adds, “I relate to this character because of the father-daughter connection the pain, the anger and the revenge the character has.”
Talking about how he bagged the role, he says, “I got a call from the casting department asking me to audition for this role but I was really busy shooting somewhere else, so I couldn’t go and personally audition for it. I sent my audition and they liked it and they called me to talk.”
Jay loves the title as well. “I feel that this is the perfect title because the show is totally about the relationships. So, I feel there could have not been any better title than this,” he says.
Working with Rajan Shahi and Director’s Kut Productions is a treat, says Jay. “I couldn’t ask more. First of all, Rajan sir is a great producer. In fact, I was trying for a long time to work with him. Finally, I got this opportunity. When I came to meet him for the character briefing, Rajan sir was so busy, yet he explained my character so patiently. He told me how the graph of the character has been and how they plan to take it over. So that was really impressive. I really wish to work with him again and again. The production house is like a family, the shooting is comfortable, there is no chaos and all the co-actors are superb. Everyone talks to each other and there is so much of positivity on set and that is what makes the show real success,” he says.
Ask him who his favourite co-actor is on the set, and he says, “I think it’s Shourya, Samir Sharma because we share a room and I really connect with him. We discuss scenes and keep on making funny videos in the make-up room.”
