Rangrezz, Vashu Bhagnani’s movie, is out today with Jacky Bhagnani, Vashu’s son on board to play the main lead. Let’s read Rangrezz movie review to learn what the movie’s worth is about – whether it is worth watching or just a time pass.

Directed by the skilled filmmaker Priyadarshan, Rangrezz is not a masala entertainer as mostly the Priyadarshan movies are known for. Vashu Bhagnani too is famed for delivering entertainers and glamorous movies but this time around, both Priyadarshan and Vashu take the opposite route by presting a serious kind of film for the Hindi moviegoers. Rangrezz, the remake of the popular Tamil movie Naadodigal (2009) is a story of friendship with the doses of love in the narrative. The film is attention-grabbing and alluring in the first half but from the beginning of the second half till the end, the plot is simply boring and lackluster.

The film talks about three friends who make the attempt of uniting another pal with his lady love. But in the procedure of doing so, they (each of them) start losing something very precious. Eventually they get a shock when they begin realizing that the difficulties and hard times they stumbled upon for uniting the lovers went simply meaningless because the lovers finally go separate ways.

The story is simply there is nothing novel in it – we have seen many a films on the subjects like this on Indian celluloid previously. The narrative is not strapping – it is attention-fetching and powerful in the first half but post interval portion, it lacks energy. The first half shows the friendship’s worth, as we normally see in Hindi films and the things like that and these things work with the audiences. The kidnapping drama looks convincing before the intermission also. But the second half goes beyond the expectations of the viewers. The friends’ planning to begin life afresh in second half looks out of the way. The problems in married couple are not convincing at all. There are many other holes in the script as well.

Priyadarshan impresses with direction in first hour of the film, but he fails to impress in the post interval portion of the movie. Editing is okay. Cinematography by Santosh Sivan is just about okay. Script by Mushtaq Shiekh is below average as mentioned above that it is interesting is first half but lacks oomph in post interval portion. Music is catchy by Sajid-Wajid and Sundar C Babu.

Jacky Bhagnani impresses with his acting skills and shows he can become a good Bollywood actor provided that chances are endowed to him. Priya Anand is fine. Amitosh Nagpal is good to watch. Rajpal Yadav is fabulous and others too attract with their parts.

Final Verdict:

In a capsule, Rangrezz is an ordinary movie with interesting first half only. Watch it on your own risk.
