Bajatey Raho is a revenge comedy that stars the likes of Tusshar Kapoor, Ravi Kishan, Vinay Pathak and Ranvir Shorey in main leads. The film’s promotions were going on and now the movie is in theater. Let’s review it whether it is entertaining or just a time pass. Many of the comedies go flat because of the vivid reason – comedy making is not a small or easy thing. It needs skills and if the filmmaker and the writer are apt in the expertise, the output is what the viewer would love to enjoy time and again.
The movies, which are set in Delhi, often run well at the box office and among the viewers. Past examples being Khosla Ka Ghosla, Fukrey and few others. But the question is whether Bajatey Raho has potential to tread along with those movies? The answer is – the movie tries hard but goes just about okay.
The content is not as interesting as it should have been. Writer Zafar A. Khan puts his complete efforts to make a thoroughly entertaining venture, but it lacks at various junctures throughout the film.
Bajatey Raho talks about Sabharwal (Ravi Kishan), who always commits a series of frauds. But he is not aware of the fact that one of his frauds has generated a mammoth impact on four commoners’ lives – Sukhi (Tusshar Kapoor), Mrs. Baweja (Dolly Ahluwalia), Ballu (Ranvir Shorey) and Mintoo (Vinay Pathak). When Mr. Baweja (Yogendra Tikku) passes away because of heart attack, Mrs. Baweja takes the whole situation in her hands. The four now schemes to get even with Sabharwal.
The novelty is not there in the subject, we have seen numerous movies on this genre in the past. The writer should have injected a good gripping story into the narrative. The humor does not entice much. Although the film interest you, but the pace becomes sluggish at various junctures. Sushant Shah’s direction is fine. Music of the movie is below average. Editing is not up to the mark. Cinematography is average.
Tusshar Kapoor does a nice job and attracts with his part. Ravi Kishan is fine. Vinay Pathak is in his elements. Ranvir Shorey is nice to watch. Dolly Ahluwalia grabs the attention. Rest of the cast fills the bill as well.
Final Verdict:
Bajatey Raho is just about okay comedy. The humor does not entice fully. It is a time pass entertainer.
