After the successful Tanu Weds Manu in 2011 film, the makers have come up with the much-awaited sequel to this flick titled Tanu Weds Manu Returns. The prequel had worked high on its simplicity, ear pleasing music, simple plot and brilliant performances and now the same is being expected from the sequel. If it will be the same or will displease the viewers? Let’s analyze it.
Tanu Weds Manu Returns starts off where the original had ended up with Tanu (Kangana Ranaut) and Manu (R. Madhavan) living a happy married life. But after four years of marriage, the couple starts losing interest in each other. Now Tanu returns to her hometown Kanpur after separating sourly with her husband. Manu reaches to Delhi, where he bumps into a Haryanvi athlete Kusum (Kangana Ranaut) who resembles Tanu. From here on, the comic love triangle begins with the trio, which lands up on Manu’s discovery of his life partner. Who will she be – Tanu or Kusum? This is what the film’s climax is all about.
The plot is simple yet catchy and instantly glides on the viewers. This is what is called the beauty of the film and its script. Screenplay is simply awesome with just few flaws, which are not noticeable at all. Himanshu Sharma writes it and he deserves all applauds for the same. Aanand L. Rai’s execution of the script on celluloid is simply marvelous and brilliant. He makes the viewers sit till the end and you really forget blinking the eyes. Content speaks itself and the same is the case with Tanu Weds Manu Returns. Editing is sharp and cinematography is a work of brilliance. Music is catchy.
Kangana Ranaut delivers award-fetching performance and she excels in both the roles fantastically. R. Madhavan is a class to watch. Jimmy Shergill and Deepak Dobriyal are fabulous in their roles. Rest of the cast is awesome.
On the whole, Tanu Weds Manu Returns is interesting and catchy throughout. It is a MUST WATCH. Highly Recommended.
