Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, the much-awaited biopic is out to entertain you. Well, the Bollywood industry has turned towards making biopics and they are well-received by the audiences. Although for last few years or so, the trend of making biopics have been quite hot in the industry, but in recent past, it gathered real momentum. Well, when the audiences are happy and they want to see the celebrated persons’ lives on celluloid, then the trend should go on. Rakesh Omprakash Mehra delivers the goods aptly on screen and Farhan Akhtar is the real life of the film enacting the protagonist Milkha Singh on screen.
The film documents the life of the Indian runner Milkha Singh and the film reveals all about the athlete right from his childhood to the days he emerged as an icon winner. The film shows the time when Milkha Singh loses his family during partition time. His life struggle in his game of running is shown on screen, as to how he became the renowned Indian athlete even without any kind of guidance and monetary support. Bhaag Milkha Bhaag also depicts Milkha’s attachment to his sister (Divya Dutta). The film also lets you see how the athlete loses his heart to his lady love (Sonam Kpaoor).
The writing portion is simply outstanding and brilliant. Famous film writer and lyricist Prasoon Joshi writes simply breath-arresting script which the talented director Rakesh Omprakash Mehra very aptly delivers on screen. Both did awesome and magical job on celluloid for the viewers who want quality and they delivered the same for them. Editing is fine. Cinematography is luminous. Music is great.
Farhan Akhtar proves he is a giant actor. The character of Milkha Singh is well enacted by him. He first developed the body of an athlete very skillfully and then he studied Milkha’s character before enacting the part on screen. Farhan’s performance is award-winning from all aspects and the actor should now be ready to bag awards for his performance. Sonam Kapoor is great to watch. The actress shows her dexterity and after working in recent movies like Raanjhanaa and now Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, she has become a successful actress. Dalip Tahil is first rate. Nawab Shah and Shanta Kumar both are alluring in their respective parts. Others too are fine.
Final Verdict:
On the whole, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag is a well-made biopic and will surely win accolades and viewers’ liking. Awards are now geared up for the movie, the team should be ready to fetch them.
